About the Photographer

Ethan Oberst

Beginning

I was born and raised on a dairy farm in small town Ohio. There was no better way to grow up but I had different plans on my mind, to head west and become a cowboy. What I didn't know was that decision would change the entire course of my life. Being a cowboy will now always be in my blood and spirit.

Middle

I spent the next 10 years of my life pursuing all things involving the western way of life. Cowboying, ranching, hunting, starting colts, managing ranches, backpacking, rodeoing, traveling across the U.S. I lived in 7 different states during that timeframe as well as obtaining two degrees. From not knowing how to ride or saddle a horse to working for some of the best horse trainers and recognizable ranches, winning horse and rodeo competitions, it has been quite the journey.

Current

Over the last several years, I have pursued my passion in photography. Starting with capturing hunts with friends that blossomed into trying to capture everyday life when I wasn't horseback, wrestling calves or fixing fence. I currently spend my time between Idaho, Texas and Nebraska. I train rope horses, start and ride colts and continue to develop my photography profile.
